A HIDDEN GEM AT THE END OF A FARM FIELD ROAD

A vivid imagination, and vision of possibilities was necessary in this home renovation. Matt Lawrence (Lawrence Interiors) is a master at seeing the potential that a remodel has, and then making the vision a reality.

This project started with a trip down a farm road covered by a canopy of treetops, at the end of the road an abandoned house and pole barn. Nature had reclaimed this property. This once beautiful walkout rambler was hidden beneath the overgrowth of trees and bushes. Squirrels and critters had made this house their home. Matt promised his wife Jessica he could make this their dream home!

Once inside the house Matt knew he would have to gut the house to the stud walls, move walls and a Nstaircase, tear out the old brick fireplace, put on an addition of bedrooms, replace all the windows, and the siding and shingles. Basically, they would build a new home on an old foundation.

The goal was to build a modern farmhouse where they could raise their 3 children. It was important to have a large open kitchen to host family and friend gatherings. They also wanted their floor plan to showcase the beauty of their view, surrounded by farmland.

  • The modern farmhouse finishes in this magical transformation include:

  • 3 Panel doors and mission style casing and baseboard from Heritage Millwork.

  • Showplace Cabinets provide style, durability, easy access, and incredible storage space.

  • Mannington Wood Floors are throughout the main area, chosen to perform under busy feet of a young family and of course the family pet Bella.

  • Shaw Carpet in the bedrooms, a low pile pattern which is also kid and pet friendly.

  • Tile is various companies, added design and durability.

  • Countertops by Cambria and Corian, beautiful, non-pores, and easy to clean.

  • Hunter Douglas window treatments, room darkening to help those early risers sleep in.

  • Pella Windows, maximize the incredible views and right on trend with black interior and exterior.
